Cairo, Giza, Alexandria and Sharm El Sheikh in 10 days. Feasible?
I would love to have more time than that, Egypt is the second part of a European trip I am planning, 10 days is all I can spare! I guess I could cut Alexandria from my plans, I want to spend at least 3 nights in Cairo and 3 nights in Sharm El Sheikh.
Yeah I know Egypt is not in europe, just quick stop over while I am in Europe;-)
For Cairo and Giza 2 days are enough. You can do the pyramids of Giza, Saqqara and Memphis in one day. The second day is for the museum, the citadel and old Cairo. In the evenings a Nile Cruise of 2 hours in a floating restaurant with show and music, also the sound and light show at the pyramids and Sphinx.
Alexandria needs one day. You visit the Library of Alexandria, the Roman Theater, the fortress and possibly Montaza gardens.
I wonder if you like to visit the south. Luxor has two thirds of Egypt’s monuments. The whole city is a museum. I wish you visit Luxor for 2 days or do the Nile Cruise between Luxor And Aswan in a floating hotel for 3 days.
Sharm el Sheikh is for relaxation and water activities, it is very beautiful. 3 days are enough.
