Travelling to Egypt in June?
I will be travelling in Egypt in the first two weeks of June. I am planning to Go To Cairo, Luxor, Aswan and end my trip in Alexandria. Has anyone been to Egypt in June? What is the weather like (well I am sure it is hot but what should I be most worried about.?
Thanks
Hi Ozzy, yes I have been to Egypt in June, and yes, it is VERY HOT. The hottest places are Aswan and Luxor, SO VERY HOT.
You dont have to worry about anything, just make sure you protect yourself from the sun (especially mid-day), wear a hat, sun protector and cool clothes, and dont go anywhere without taking a bottle of water with you.
Shorts are ok to wear in tourist places like Luxor, Aswan and Alexandria, but not so acceptable in Cairo.
You will have a wonderful time, it is an awesome place to visit. The locals in tourist areas, will be very pushy trying to sell you things, but always haggle with them, they enjoy it, and they expect it.
You will also come across locals offering to ‘help’ you, they are very helpful but of course want money for anything they do. Dont be afraid to say NO, if you dont want their help, but if you want their help, then whatever money you give them will help them – this is their only source of income.
I would advise you to drink only bottled water, and dont eat salads – if the salads are washed it is not with bottled water. I know many people who got ill that way.
But thats it….no problems. I thoroughly enjoy my every visit.
Enjoy your trip to wonderful Egypt
